#SuperMeet event postponed!

Due to current COVID conditions, the Work Ready Kāpiti #SuperMeet has been postponed.

The Board has made the difficult decision this week to postpone the upcoming #SuperMeet event. 

COVID is now very much within the Kāpiti community and colleges, youth organisations and businesses have seen significantly decreased attendance, as many are in isolation. 

The Board have pushed hard to be able to continue with the event and support the youth we serve but the current circumstances mean that many youth cannot attend this week's event and therefore the Board have decided to postpone in an effort to ensure that as many youth as possible are supported by this event.

Our Chair - John Scutter commented,

“As a Board our priority is to offer quality, positive opportunities to the rangatahi of Kāpiti that support them in their journey to becoming work ready and to provide valuable connections to industry.  Whilst it is disappointing to have to postpone this event, we do believe it is the right decision. Given the recent news of the vaccine passport mandates lifting, we feel that this postponement is timely, as our event will now be able to reach more youth and have further impact for the future workforce of Kāpiti.  We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to those employers that had agreed to support at this event for both their commitment and now their flexibility and patience as we work to set the new date - their support is invaluable, thank you.” 

We will follow up with further communications around the revised date, once the current situation has had time to settle and stabilise.

We will be communicating with those youth that had registered to attend this week's #SuperMeet to see if any would like to meet with the employers they selected ahead of the new event, perhaps via Zoom, so that no opportunities are lost and all youth that registered will automatically receive follow up communications to book them in for the next event.
