Ko te reo te mauri o te mana Māori! - Te Reo Māori launch for Work Ready Kāpiti!
MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK - PERFECT TIMING FOR THE LAUNCH OF OUR INCLUSIVE, COMMUNITY-MINDED TE REO MĀORI VERSION OF THE KĀPITI WORK READY PASSPORT.
The Kāpiti Work Ready Passport now in its second year, has been translated through a partnership with parents of students at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Rito who have meticulously translated the English version into Te Reo Māori.
The Kāpiti Work Ready Passport was the first of our programmes which supports our mission of helping the youth of Kāpiti build pathways into employment. By completing the Passport Programme, 15-24 year old’s broaden their knowledge and develop skills that local employers are looking for. They learn to identify their strengths and provide evidence of their skills and experience. There is a focus on ethics and attitude and becoming “work ready”.
Our Kāpiti Coast community has benefitted from the passport programme over the last 3 years. We have seen our youth and local businesses come together, and the next step in our story was to create a Te Reo version. The need for the Te Reo Māori version of the Passport has been at the top of our list, to support our local Maori, both youth and employers. Work Ready Kāpiti are proud to confirm that the Te Reo version of our Kāpiti Work Ready Passport has now been completed and is now live on this website!
