Employer Recruitment 2020

Work Ready Kāpiti is seeking more employers to get involved in our programmes and support Kāpiti youth in becoming work ready.

We are a not for profit which supports local youth in becoming work ready and is aimed at Kāpiti youth between the ages of 15-24.

We had an amazing 2019, seeing employer engagement and youth involvement increase across all three of our programmes by over 100%, but we now have their sights set on having even more of an impact on youth in 2020.

We have seen real change as a direct result of their programmes, with some students going on to secure Apprenticeships or further paid work as a result of these connections. Employer’s are able to make positive connections with future employees as well as get a helping hand and give back to the community..

We have three programmes in which local employer’s can get involved in.

#EmployerMeets - these are speed dating-style events in which youth meet with employers to gain valuable interview experience, whilst allowing employers to meet a range of potential employees.

WEX - their Work EXperience programme which launched last year, offers flexible placements to gain workplace experience, connecting youth with local businesses.

Kāpiti Work Ready passport - a workbook based programmes run in Colleges, providing a platform for students to create a portfolio of their abilities, e.g. CV, work experiences, etc.

Work Ready Kāpiti’s Trust is driven to see 2020 thrive and to affect further change for local youth. We are keen to onboard more employers and provide youth with even further opportunities as well as offering employers a vital connection to their future workforce.

Bryan Gundersen, Work Ready Kāpiti Trust Chairman said “We have had good support from some loyal and passionate Kāpiti employers, but we need more. Employers who do participate in our programmes have found it rewarding many ways and often that youth can bring new and innovative insight to the workplace”.

Employers can get involved with us by either signing up to support any of the above programmes and giving of their time,  or for the time poor there are a number of sponsorship options to suit all budgets.

If you would like to know more about the programmes at Work Ready Kāpiti, either as a local youth or an employer, email workreadykapiti@gmail.com.
